Making Press-on Nails last
Press-on nails are a great, affordable way to have your nails looking done, but to keep them looking fresh, you need to make them last. Here are some tips to help your press-on nails stay secure for as long as possible.
1. Prep Your Natural Nails
Clean your nails: Remove any old polish and clean your nails with alcohol to get rid of any oils.
Trim and Buff: Trim and file your nails, then gently buff the surface.
Push Back Cuticles: Use a cuticle pusher to get rid of any unnecessary cuticle on the nail base.
2. Use Strong Adhesive
Use a good-quality nail glue. Apply glue to both your natural nail and the press-on, then press firmly for 15-30 seconds.
3. Avoid Water for an Hour
Keep your hands dry for at least an hour after applying the press on nails to allow the glue to set properly.
4. Protect Your Nails
Wear Gloves: Use gloves for chores like dishwashing or cleaning.
5. Maintain Your Nails
If a nail starts to lift, reapply a small amount of glue.
Add a clear top coat for extra protection and shine.
